CRESTED BUTTE DEPOT WELCOME PARTY
Are you planning a welcome party for your guest? I couldn’t recommend it more! The joy and excitement you can experienced through one extra day with your family and friends is the way to celebrate and breakthrough a rushed and blurred day. Weddings have many feels and lots of mix emotions that having a welcome dinner is the way to help all those feels and bring even more excitement to celebrate. I want to share a few of the benefits of having a welcome party.
1. You can get extra time with your family that is cut out during the wedding day with all the photos, and the rush you may find yourself in a rush and blurred that it can be a little overwhelming and also somewhat annoying to not be around everyone you want to be with.
2. Speeches and cake cutting can be part of the dinner party to where you can save time during the reception and go straight into dancing giving you extra time to dance the night away with your loved ones especially when they have traveled along ways.
3. You want this day to be captured especially if you’re planning a destination wedding. This is a way to capture more beautiful moments that could possibly not be captured in the midst of a rushed and blurred day. More details, more moments is always the best to add to your beautiful weekend!
4. Greeting your guest. During reception it is so hard to go around the tables and saying hello to everyone. You want to make sure everyone feels welcome. But your wedding day should be about you and only you! Yes you should feel appreciated that your friends and family are there to celebrate but you shouldn’t have to feel overwhelmed because you couldn’t say hi to your guests because you had to be sneaked out for sunset photos, or for some other reason. Let’s break the cycle of stress to greet 150 guest.

The dreamiest engagement photo shoot I could’ve done! From the couple to the venue. My dreams came true all in seconds. Are you planning your engagement photos, you cannot go wrong with booking yourself a room at the Surf Hotel in Buena Vista, Co. and if you do, choose me to be your engagement photographer and it would even be a plus if I photograph your wedding! Right here in this same venue.
The Surf Hotel is actually known for one of the best exotic wedding venues in the mountains of Colorado with all the amazing views, and only a 20 minute drive to the natural Mountain Princeton Hot Springs. It is also walking distance to the local shops, restaurants, and it’s pretty well known for their local art galleries. Monarch Pass is about 1 hour driving distance so if you’re planning a fall/ winter wedding or engagement photos, but also want to drive into the golden leaves or ski the mountains of Colorado Buena Vista, and Salida is one locations to scout and be very close to your venue. The Surf Hotel also offers many others services that you can check out right here at the Surf Chateau.
The simplicity, elegance, and all this natural light ugh! I am such a sucker for all of it. I am always down for new visions besides I am finding myself in the outdoors with almost the same backdrops, so switching it up is always fun.

BIRTHDAY ICE CREAM PHOTOSHOOT
When I began planning for our little girls birthday party I asked her what she wanted and she said, “ I want a tea party, with only my girl friends.” I asked a couple of times are you sure, and her answer was always yes. This was seriously by far one of the funnest birthday parties/ shoots I’ve planned for her. When I began to plan her little birthday shoot I wanted something that would describe her, I didn’t want to bring out greens and white dresses again, I wanted to capture her heart, her personality. I woke up at three am, woke John up and I told him that I had figured out the shoot for Gethsemane hah!! (if you’re married you would know what I mean)The next morning, I ran to the store to get ice cream and the cones, came back and told Gethsemane that I would be doing a photoshoot, and she had to get a swim suit on, and she ran to her room threw on a complete swimsuit on then what I had envisioned. Seriously took us longer to get her ready than to do the shoot! How fun tho is this little ice cream photoshoot. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT)!!!
Quick note: When we began planning our house, I made sure to add accent walls for these little shoots, light was huge for the plans, I told John that I wanted lots of windows and white to bring light into a room but it really was all about the photography for me. I’ll post a little more on the house later.
